Meet our Sustainable Young Makers 2024 cohort

The CDT’s Textile Reuse Hub, based at The Trampery Fish Island Village and run by Yodomo, focuses on solutions to reduce the huge volumes of textile waste currently being produced. The Sustainable Young Makers programme is an ongoing scheme to support local young people to establish their own creative businesses using these same principles. As part of the programme, young creatives learn key business and sustainability skills by working closely alongside Yodomo’s professional maker community.

The 2024 cohort of six super-talented individuals recently used The Trampery facilities as a platform to present their work, launch their new ranges and sell items direct to a receptive audience. Anisah Yaminah, Charlie Catlow, Francesca Taddeo, Fred Redman, Lorna Isles and Megan Taylor all spoke eloquently about all they had learned and their hopes for what happens next.

To celebrate the successful completion of the first cohort on the programme, we’ve put together a special Meet the Makers directory page where you can delve into the work of each designer-maker, find out a little bit about their process, chosen aesthetic and experience of Yodomo’s mentorship, plus you’ll find the all-important links to where to contact them and see more of their work IRL.
