The Hub’s success to date

Since it’s launch in October last year, the Textile Reuse Hub has been dedicated to pioneering solutions that tackle textile waste head-on. Operated by Yodomo, the hub has become a destination for creatives and a hive of activity, engaging the wider community in sustainable approaches to making through regular workshops and materials sales.

To date, the hub has been host to:

➡️ 55 events with 1000+ people in attendance, including 30% being young people aged 18 - 30

➡️ The Sustainable Young Makers Programme cohort #1 supporting six young people to establish their creative businesses using sustainable approaches

The Sustainable Young Makers Programme

As we embark on another year, Yodomo will continue to operate The Textile Reuse Hub extending the site’s reputation as a home for developing innovative solutions to reduce textile waste, and engaging the local community in sustainable making practices. Plans for the upcoming year include:

  • Launching the Sustainable Young Makers Cohort #2

  • Extending the lifespan of textile waste set for landfill

  • More events connecting local communities, partners and the wider circular economy ecosystem in London
