MEGAN TAYLOR
“Working with Making for Change has been a really great experience, our missions align and so it’s important to make sure Hackney remains this kind of positive community”
About Megan
Megan started her clothing line, Bou Soie, to enhance people’s well-being through clothing. She designs clothing that feels amazing to wear, cut from a range of plant-based materials and handmade in London by a small group of local machinists. Lockdown helped Megan to redefine her idea of fashion as a tool to enhance well-being, realising she could use design to shape feelings for the wearer. This incentivised her to create clothing that would have a positive emotional impact on both makers and wearers. Bou Soie minimises environmental impact by using plant-based fabrics that require fewer resources to produce. They deliver pre-cut garments to machinists by bike, cutting out the CO2 produced by shipping garments overseas.
Megan’s Mentor
Megan was paired up with Mo Riach, Designer and Founder of Nàdarra, a London-based start up who believe in creating product using fabrics and dye techniques that are kind to the environment
“It’s been really useful having the support of my mentor, it’s been great being able to hear from others who share the same sustainability mission as us”
